The Reuse Project Underway in Local Universities

The Reuse Project is a collaborative effort by students at Drury University and Missouri State University to encourage reuse of materials. The campaign creates awareness for students who may be unfamiliar to the area of where they can go to find secondhand items they need and get rid of the items they no longer need.

The Reuse Resource Sheet was created so students and local residents could have easy access to a list of various resources available for selling, donating, and buying from secondhand organizations around the Springfield area. Although the list was originally created for college students at Missouri State University, this information can be useful to anyone looking for secondhand resources as having this information in one place makes it easier and faster to find the types of organization needed. Hopefully, this resource will help to encourage reuse and donation of items in Springfield.

Below is the list of the organizations in Springfield. The website links can be accessed by clicking on the organization name in the list below the chart. The chart explains types of items that can be sold or donated to each organization as well as the types of items you can buy from them. Keep in mind that there are even more organizations in Springfield than what is on this list! There are also online sources for selling/ buying secondhand items, such as Facebook Marketplace, Depop, Poshmark, and more.
