The Ozarks Headwaters Recycling & Materials Management District 2020 grant call just wrapped up. We received eighteen grant applications which was another big year for us!
The Grant Evaluation Committee met on January 10th to review and score all applications. This was another highly competitive year and the committee members certainly had their work cut out for them. The total requested funding was $473,101.12, but OHRD only had $309,677.64 in funds to distribute. After much consideration, the committee was able to recommend funding for all eighteen applicants, by offering reduced amounts for some proposed projects. These recommendations will be submitted to the OHRD board for approval on January 28th, and then on to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources for final approval.
OHRD is thankful to all of the applicants who submitted proposals. Each application was thorough and each project would contribute to waste reduction efforts throughout our district. We look forward to hearing from these applicants again in the future. We also offer thanks to Greene County for allowing us to have office space on campus and providing a great location to hold our committee meeting. Greene County generosity means a lot to us and our grantees!
